The retro-leaning pop/rock caboodle Rooney is comprised of Henry Martyn Robert Carmine (vocals/guitar), Taylor John Locke (guitar), Mat Winter (bass), Louie Stephens (keyboards), and Ned Brower (drums). Inspired by the Beach Boys, ELO, Superdrag, and the quintet's hometown of Los Angeles, Rooney held their sooner practices in Locke's service department in 2000. From the begin, however, the mathematical grouping enjoyed connections that near garage bands inadequacy: Carmine is the younger comrade of actor/ex-Phantom Satellite drummer Jason Schwartzman (non to mention the boy of actress Talia Shire, full cousin of Nicholas Cage, and nephew of Francis Fording Coppola), and both he and Brower had previously enjoyed performing careers (Brower briefly starred inverse Katie Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. in Dawson's Creek, piece Carmine enjoyed medium-sized roles in The Princess Diaries and The Virgin Suicides).
